Ever since I started covering weddings, my photographic ideal has always been resistant to posed and staged scenes. As a street photographer, I love the real: not what is artificial or constructed.
I focus very much on moments and on what is really happening during an event. Naturally, to tell the full story, I also give enormous attention to the portraiture shots, but not to the exclusion of everything else. The newly-weds are always the cynosure of my eye, but the album as a whole will also contain many photos of the attendant friends and family.
My photographic telling of the story is rhythmic and musical, and so the images of the romantic couple are interlaced with delicate shots of special and emergent moments. A single photo taken out of its proper place in the chronology of the story may not seem to say much, but when contextualized, it may say everything.
